Terms of Service

Last updated October 9, 2026

THE SHORT VERSION

  • Mashup Launcher is beta software for Windows that sets up community game mashups for you.
  • A purchase pays for the app’s own one-click setup and extras. It doesn’t include any game, Minecraft, or anyone’s mod.
  • All sales are final, except where the law requires a refund.
  • Single-player and offline use only. You need your own copies of the games, and you follow their rules.
  • We’re not affiliated with any game publisher. Creators and rights holders can ask us to remove anything.
  • Ontario, Canada law applies.

This summary helps you find your way. The full terms below are what count.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the owner of Mashup Launcher, a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada, doing business as Mashup Launcher (“we”, “us”). They cover the Mashup Launcher desktop app (the “App”), licence keys for it, and this website.

By installing or using the App, or buying a licence key, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t install or use the App.

You must be old enough to make a binding agreement where you live, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission. You must also meet the age ratings and terms of the games you play.

2. Beta software

The App is in beta. It’s still being built and tested, so it may have bugs, may not work with every PC or game version, and its features, its library of mashups and its prices may change.

3. Your licence to use the App

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on computers you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms. You may not:

  • sell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute the App or a licence key;
  • share or publish a licence key;
  • get around, disable or tamper with the App’s licence checks;
  • copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the App, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
  • use the App to break any game’s terms, to cheat in online play, or to get around copy protection or anti-cheat.

We keep all rights in the App that these Terms don’t expressly give you.

4. What a purchase covers

The App is free to download. The free version sets up the free mashup in one click, links every creator’s free install guide, and backs up your saves with one-click undo.

A one-time purchase (“Full library”, US$4.99, an early price) gives you a licence key that turns on the App’s own paid features:

  • one-click setup and Play for every mashup in the App’s library;
  • the App’s Mashup menu, in mashups that have one;
  • the App’s fixes after game updates;
  • mashups added to the library later, at no extra cost.

The purchase is for the App’s own software and services only. It doesn’t include, sell or license any game, Minecraft, any mod, mashup or loader, or anything else made by someone else. Those come from their creators and publishers under their own terms. Every mashup stays available for free from its creator, to set up yourself by following the creator’s guide.

The library can change. A mashup may be added, updated, paused or removed at any time, for example after a game update, at its creator’s request, or after a takedown request. A purchase doesn’t guarantee that any particular mashup stays in the library or keeps working.

A licence key works on a limited number of your computers, as shown at checkout or in the App.

5. Prices, payment and taxes

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which sells the licence key to you as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy’s own terms and privacy policy also apply to the checkout. Prices are in US dollars; taxes are added at checkout where required. The early price may change for future purchases; that doesn’t change a purchase you’ve already made.

6. All sales are final

All sales are final and non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that apply to you. Details: Refund Policy.

If a payment is refunded or reversed (for example a chargeback), its licence key is switched off and the paid features stop working on every computer that used it.

7. Your games, accounts and each game’s rules

  • You need your own legitimate copies of the games, bought on Steam, and for Minecraft mashups your own Minecraft: Java Edition account. The App supports Steam versions of games only.
  • You’re responsible for following the licence agreements, terms and rules of each game, platform, account and mod you use, including those of Mojang and Microsoft, Valve (Steam), and each game’s publisher.
  • Modding a game can affect saves, support from the publisher, or how the game behaves after an update. You use mashups at your own risk.

8. Single-player and offline only

The App is for single-player, offline play only. Don’t use the App or any mashup in online multiplayer, on official servers, or anywhere anti-cheat is active. The App starts games that have online anti-cheat in their offline mode, where they have one, and won’t set up mashups for online-only games.

The App never gets around copy protection (DRM) and never changes anti-cheat files. You must not use it to do either.

9. Mashups, mods and other third-party content

Mashups, mods, loaders and tools in the library are made by independent creators and other third parties. The App downloads them when you install, from their official sources, and checks that each file is exactly the expected one. We don’t own, control or guarantee them, and their own licences and terms apply. Credit for every mashup belongs to its creator: each mashup page in the App names the creator and links to their page.

When a mashup needs Minecraft, the App uses Prism Launcher, an open-source launcher, to download Minecraft from Mojang and sign in with your own Microsoft account. We never see your Microsoft password.

10. Your computer and your files

To set up a mashup, the App changes files in your game folders. Before it does, it backs up your saves and records every change, so that Remove can put your files back. Software can still fail, so keep your own backups of anything important. You’re responsible for your computer, its security software, and the games installed on it.

11. No affiliation with game publishers

NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.

Mashup Launcher is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Bethesda, CD PROJEKT, FromSoftware, Bandai Namco, Valve, or any other game publisher or developer. All game names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to say which games a mashup works with. Listing a mashup doesn’t mean its creator endorses Mashup Launcher.

12. Takedown requests and complaints

If you’re a creator or rights holder and believe something in the App’s library or on this website uses your work or rights without permission, contact us at our contact email (coming soon) and include:

  • who you are, and the work or rights you own or represent;
  • what you’re concerned about (the mashup’s name, or the page on this website);
  • how we can reach you.

We’ll acknowledge your request and, where it’s valid, remove or change the listing promptly, usually the same day. The library is updated without needing an app update. More on the Contact and takedown page.

13. Feedback and problem reports

If you send us feedback or a problem report, we may use it to improve the App without owing you anything for it. The Privacy Policy explains what a problem report contains.

14. Ending this agreement

You can stop using the App at any time. Use Remove in the App first, to put your game files back, and then uninstall it.

We may suspend or end your licence, including switching off a licence key, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, share or resell a key, or if its payment is refunded or reversed. We may also change or stop offering the App or any feature. Sections 9 to 11 and 15 to 19 continue to apply after this agreement ends.

15. No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App, its library and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and without any promise that the App will be free of errors or interruptions, or that any mashup will work with your games or keep working after a game update.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost saves, data or profits, or for anything a game publisher or platform does to your game account or access; and
  • our total liability for all claims relating to the App, its library, this website or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim and CA$10.

Some places don’t allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms, for example as the beta develops. We’ll post the new version on this page with a new date and, for important changes, tell you in the App. If you keep using the App after a change, the new Terms apply from then on.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the consumer protection law of the place you live gives you the right to use your local law or courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods doesn’t apply.

19. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the App. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part straight away, we haven’t given it up. You may not transfer these Terms or your licence to anyone else; we may transfer them to a business that takes over the App.

20. Contact
